From bespoke menus, wine journeys and private dinners, to kids' talent shows, sports tournaments and bespoke wellness programmes, this island paradise has something to get everyone of all ages into the festive spirit.   Christmas Eve The festive programme kicks off on 24 December with evening cocktails and a special Christmas Eve Gala dinner featuring live cooking stations filled with gourmet flavours from around the world. Blue & the Band and DJ Anna will provide a 24-karat soundtrack for the evening with a mix of old favourites and the latest chartbusters, while a dazzling fire show lights up the night.   Seasonal culinary Crafted mixed drinks whipped up by the resort's resident mixologists will be available throughout the seasonal celebrations; meanwhile Sommelier Ivan Zugic has curated a singular grape journey that includes organic and gold label vintages. On the menu, chef Driss and his team transport guests on a culinary voyage through time, with themed menus including the Golden Heritage and Traditions of the Indian Ocean, an ode to the Maldives, Sri Lanka and India; A Taste of Arabia, featuring specialty flavours from the Middle East; The Golden Triangle, bringing a taste of Thailand; and Mediterranean fare showcasing the finest ingredients from Italy, France, Spain and Greece.   Leisure Sports will play a big part in the revelry for adults and kids during the festive season, with a Football Golden Boot Camp, a tennis tournament with resident ATP tennis pro and even the Family Olympics. For little travellers, the silly season offers the opportunity to experience an immersive Pirates' Treasure Hunt, participate in Vakkaru Kids' Got Talent, and of course, meet with Santa Claus on the sandy shores.   New Year's Eve Ring in 2022 in suitably stylish fashion at Vakkaru, which will transform into an island-wide fairyland for the finale of the festive season. The 'Glitter & Gold: Bling in the New Year' countdown gala will feature a show-stopping culinary array that features local and international delights, served up against the backdrop of live entertainment from the house band, DJ Anna and a medley of circus-style performers from jugglers, hula hoopers, aerialists, stilt walkers, acrobats, cabaret dancers, and the LED and fire shows   Resolutions for the New Year and beyond Those looking to make health-related resolutions for the new year can book a consultation with Domingos Folgado, a visiting award-winning wellness practitioner, therapist, acupuncture expert and qualified personal trainer based in London.
